Data is from a prepared research work instituted by Josiah K. Lilly of Indianapolis, first cousin of William Lemon, Council, Idaho, who printed and published the record. Data is from Lilly manuscripts prepared and submitted by Carl Rice and Heber Gearhart, genealogists, Sanbury, Penn. (1931).

First Generation

Robert Lemon, born in Scotland, m. Mary Anderson. Moved to north of Ireland 1656; c: Nicholas, Thomas.

Second Generation

Nicholas Lemen (note spelling), m. Nancy McKane in 1685. 7 c, 3 came to Eastern Virginia in 1708: James, Robert, Nicholas.

Third Generation

James Lemen m. Jane Burns, 1714. C: John (1715-1774), Robert (1716-1766), Nicholas (1725-1761), Thomas (born on Atlantic Ocean, June 1730, during return voyage of parents from Ireland.

Fourth Generation

Thomas Lemon (1730-1794), m. Margaret Slough of Lancaster County, Penn. C: William Slough (1755-1845), James (1757-1847), Mathias (1762-1842), Elizabeth (b.1767, m. Joseph Engle), Thomas (b. 1772).

Fifth Generation

Indiana Line formed through Mathias. M. Catharine, Northumberland County, Penn. C: Thomas (1794-1861), William S. (1800-1878).

Sixth Generation

Notes: Margaret (Broili) Lemon, pictured on the LemonNet home page in a lovely hat, was born at Geyserville, Calif., Sept. 22,1876. She married William Lemon, also pictured on the home page, in 1898 in Oregon. They moved to the Boise valley from New Pine Creek in 1904 in a covered wagon. They lived in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton and Council, where William made his career in the newspaper business. Margaret taught school in California, Oregon and Idaho.
